Halloween is one of our happiest holidays, isn’t it? We get to be whoever we wish to be (or at least appear to be…), the kids get tones of candies and the decorations across our streets, neighborhoods, cities and actually the whole nation are just fascinating to witness. But, along the enjoyment that this holiday brings with it, we need to remember to protect our skin. Here’s how to maintain healthy facial skin through Halloween.
Moisturize that Face!
Healthy facial skin is mostly related to its moisture levels, and so, the most important thing is to maintain the level of our facial moisture through the holiday. Meaning, apply moisturizer to your face before applying your holiday’s makeup. Allow the moisturizer to dry and be absorb into your skin before applying the makeup. Once you remove the makeup, moisturize your facial skin again – the makeup reduces the levels of our skin’s moisture and so it is important to restore it as soon as we remove the makeup.
Use Only Facial Makeup
Do not tempt to use makeup that doesn’t meant for facial skin use, as it may lead to severe dryness of the skin and even skin’s irritations that might lead to infections in worse cases.
Don’t Leave the Makeup On for Too Long
Halloween’s makeup is usually much heavier than daily makeup, and so, it blocks our skin’s porousness from breathing for at least a few hours. Therefore, it is important not to wear it for longer than those few hours, as our skin’s long to breathe fresh air, and while it doesn’t, it gets drier and drier, unable to restore its moisture.
Completely Remove the Makeup
When removing Halloween’s makeup, make sure it is completely removed. Wash thoroughly with water, then apply that moisturizer we talked about. No matter how tired you may be after that Halloween’s party, do not go to bed with it – remove it and moisturize your skin in order to restore your facial skin’s cleanliness and health.
Avoid Those Candies
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, our children get so many candies during the traditional trick or treat and so, many of us are tempted to eat some of it – especially at night. Well, don’t! High levels of sugar and artificial ingredients aren’t good for our skin’s health (and health in general), so you can have one, sure, but don’t be tempted to discover all the sweets in that Pumpkin’s basket. Enjoy your Holiday and maintain your healthy facial skin!
